"La Coeur"

"La Coeur" is one half of a two piece set. The other half is "La Cité" an ink & collage piece which I'll upload later. Unfortunately the shading was quite subtle and the camera didn't pick up on it too well (it was too big for the scanner), so the nose looks a bit dodgy. It looks a lot better in person.

"An Offering" (work in progress)

It's called "An Offering" after the Florence & the Machine "Rabbit Heart (raise it up)" demo. You see, when Florence was creating "Lungs" she was asked by her record label if she could write something a bit lighter, something a bit different to her usual dark stuff, which she had really, been writing for herself. So she wrote "An Offering," a song about sacrifice and the changes you have to go through to please others, while at the same time, keeping your integrity. Which is precisely what I have to do with my major work. I have to create something which will get me the best possible marks, whilst at the same time preserving my artist's integrity. This piece is an offering to my HSC markers. I hope it appeases them.

Anyway. It's a (real) horse's skull, covered in tiny pearl beads and diamond-esque acrylic jewels. ENJOY! XC
